With her girl-next-door style and natural beauty, 20-year-old Lacie Heart is taking the porn industry by storm. After appearing in a wide variety of porn productions for the likes of Wicked, Adam & Eve, VCA, Vivid, Red Light District, Evil Angel, and more, Heart recently landed a contract with Digital Playground, for whom she'd already appeared in such films as Jack's Big Ass Show, Porcelain, and Jack's Teen America.
Lacie's new gig was announced just in time for the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas; she took some time out from that busy conference to chat with Eros Zine about it, and about porn in general.
Eros Zine: How did you get into the industry?
Lacie Heart: I was dancing, and then I met a couple of people in the industry, so I did a couple of scenes, and then ended up signing with Vivid. I was with them for almost a year. I left Vivid because I stopped doing guys, since I only work with my boyfriend, Scott Nails, now. Vivid wasn't okay with that. They only have one girl who does girl-girl, and so they wouldn't re-sign me to a girl-girl contract, and they didn't want me to make movies with only one guy. So I left.
A month later, I signed with Digital Playground. My contract with Digital is that I work with Scott. I might do a couple of featured dances, too.
Eros Zine: What do you have coming out first from Digital?
Lacie Heart: The two movies that are coming out first are Deeper 4 and Lacie Heart: Sexual Freak.
Eros Zine: You live in Arizona part-time now, as well as Los Angeles. Where did you grow up?
Lacie Heart: I grew up in San Luis Obispo. I grew up on a ranch.
Eros Zine: That explains the country-western music...
Lacie Heart: Yes! My all time favorite is Garth Brooks... but I like Craig Morgan and Julie Roberts, and I like a lot of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams...
Eros Zine: Do people in the porn industry give you crap for liking country music?
Lacie Heart: [laughs] When I tell people, they're not really surprised!
Eros Zine: What makes you live part-time in Arizona?
Lacie Heart: I don't like LA because I think there's too many people, and I don't like traffic. It's too congested for me. I hate driving in LA; it makes me want to commit suicide. When I'm in the LA area, I'm in Palmdale -- so it's not so bad.
Eros Zine: With your new contract, will you be in LA more often?
Lacie Heart: I'll be on a monthly schedule. I'll come back to LA for shoots when they need me.
Eros Zine: What led you to leave dancing and get into porn?
Lacie Heart: I didn't like dancing in the first place... it's too much work! I'm too lazy for that. Now, I don't leave with bruises and I'm not sore. I'd rather be doing movies than dancing.
Eros Zine: You said you work exclusively with Scott Nails; do you like doing that more than working on girl-girl scenes?
Lacie Heart: Well, it's half and half. I really like doing scenes with Scott, because it's real, so I don't have to fake anything, and I know it's always a good scene. But working with girls is really fun, because I don't have sex with girls in my personal life.
Eros Zine: Did you meet Scott on-set?
Lacie Heart: No, we started dating and then I started working with him. I didn't meet him on set. I was in the industry for a month and then I met him.
Eros Zine: Was there a sense of energy the first time you worked together?
Lacie Heart: Yeah, because we had sex off camera before we had sex on camera. Because I had only been in the industry a month, I didn't have that much experience, and I didn't have that many partners in my personal life before porn. I'm too lazy! I only had two boyfriends in high school and all of college I didn't really have any.
Eros Zine: Can directors see the difference in energy between you and Scott versus you and another performer?
Lacie Heart: I think so. I've read reviews where reviewers
could tell that I wasn't into a scene. Now I'm saving everybody the
trouble of having to watch that -- and just working with Scott!
Eros Zine: And how about working with girls. What's that like for you?
Lacie Heart: Girls are more... well, I don't do girls in my personal life, so it's a lot different on camera -- there are a lot of things that I can do with girls that I wouldn't do otherwise. I like dominating girls. But with Scott I don't like being dominant -- I like being submissive -- so it's a whole different ballpark for me. I like dominating girls, but I like being dominated by boys.
Eros Zine: Is that something you did professionally before you tried it personally?
Lacie Heart: Yes, with girls. I've never been dominant at all with my boyfriends -- it makes me really uncomfortable. I've kind of always been like that.
Eros Zine: What are you looking forward to most about working with Digital Playground?
Lacie Heart: It makes me more comfortable that I can only work with Scott, and I don't have to worry about that. Digital is really good to me, and they give me what ever I need -- and I like the way they portray their girls. It's a lot classier; it's very beautiful. I have a say in everything that I do.
Eros Zine: Who are you looking forward to working with at Digital? Have you worked with any of them before?
Lacie Heart: I worked with Jesse before I signed the contract, but I haven't worked with the other girls. I really want to work with Jana; I really like Shay... so there's a lot of girls I want to work with. I'd love to work with all of them.
Eros Zine: When you're working with a female on camera, is it purely professionaI or is it important to have a sense of actual sexual attraction that makes it more real?
Lacie Heart: Well, it's professional to a point. You're still having sex with somebody, somebody that you don't really know, and you are getting paid for it. It is for business, but it's a lot harder to come across to the camera that this is really fun for you if you are not attracted to the person.
I've worked with girls where I'm not really attracted to them -- and you can tell; there is a big difference in the scene. But when I work with Jesse, for instance, it's really high energy and it flows, because we don't care what happens -- we just go.
On the other hand, it has to be more staged if there's not a natural chemistry there. So it's more planned out and robotic. It's fake energy.
Robby is really good at pulling energy out of girls.
He makes the girls feel really good and he always constantly talks to them and tells them what they need to be doing -- so there's not a moment in the scene where your lost
Eros Zine: Yes, I've heard that a lot of directors don't give a lot of direction.
Lacie Heart: Yeah, and it's hard for the performers to just go because they don't really know what the director needs. So it's more up to the guy how the scene goes -- like if he puts you in position, and the director is just standing there watching, it's not a good scene and he's not going to get what he wants.
I am not worried with Digital, though -- because I know they're going to make me look good no matter what. But I have been worried with other companies.
Eros Zine: Thanks, Lacie! Readers can see more -- much more -- of Lacie Heart in such Digital Playground flims as Jack's Big Ass Show, Porcelain, and Jack's Teen America.
