The first porn feature directed by Eros Zine fave Winkytiki, ReBelle Rousers is a slutty little fuck film wrapped up in the oversaturated colors, trashy settings and heady atmosphere of '60s girl-gang flicks and juvenile delinquency hysteria. With a heavy dose of vintage esthetics and plenty of tiki girls, Winky has effectively set a porno movie inside a psychobilly freakout. It is a fucking blast, and I don't really give a shit if alt porn is a powerful social movement or an overhyped Rupert Murdoch hoax conceived solely to promote My Space -- good porn is good porn. The best thing about ReBelle Rousers is that it's surprisingly unpretentious. In the behind the scenes footage, Octavio goes to great lengths to chortle over spending someone else's money -- always the dream of any underground artist. Now that, my friends, is punk rock.
The plot of Rousers concerns the Belles, "Lipstick-wearing, knife-wielding street broads in tight skirts" led by queen bitch Switchblade Molly (Kimberly Kane). They've cornered the market on lingerie in a Southern shit town called Squaresville. The local Pinups need their lacy underthings, hooked on garter belts and G-strings (I can relate). OK, so calling it a "plot" is going a little far, but it's a fine excuse for porn actresses to get dolled up in the outfits of slutty delinquents, slap each other around and toss dime-novel slang, all of which I enthusiastically support.
Rousers is divided into vignettes strung together by the story of the Squaresville lingerie racket. It starts out with "The Sub-Deb," a nasty girl-girl fuck scene, in which girl-gang arch-bitch Kimberly Kane roughs up coquettish Nadia Styles. Kane slaps and fingers Nadia, eats her out, rips off her dress and gags her first with her panties and then with a shoe. There's plenty of roughhousing and some serious anal sex.
For "The Ritual of Tiki Island," as Dragonlilly dances in a tiki bar, she's grabbed by the shadowy figure of Damon Pierce. She ends up deliciously bound with one foot raised, slapped in the face and generally manhandled before being fingered, dildo-fucked and clothespinned. It's a hot bondage scene, and edgier than most of what's shown in either porn or bondage videos.
Fetish Gossip be damned, the "Special Appearance" by Masuimi Max consists of her go-go dancing in a bikini over the closing credits and for a few moments after. Yyyyyyyeah. Vivid Alt impresario Eon McKai, to his credit, stated in AVN not too long ago that this appearance is a cameo, so I think people have been hearing what they want to hear. Whatever. Masuimi's hot, but a few seconds of a fully-clothed undulating shimmy-shake at the tail end of a porn movie does not a Special Appearance make. Extras on ReBelle Rousers include a Rousers trailer as well as one for Dave Naz's upcoming Skater Girl Fever, a set of photo galleries, and a sex act menu. Woo-hoo! The actual prize extra is the behind-the-scenes footage, 14 minutes with "Pop Up Video" comments that focus primarily on how much of someone else's money Octavio spent making the flick. It's as much fun as the flick itself.
With all the delish visuals that you'd expect from Winkytiki, ReBelle Rousers is a fun homage to B-movies and punk rock girls. It's got the hardcore sex to satisfy porn fans, and is clever enough to stand on its own stilettos.
